A special note to those wonderful women who are a part of the RoseMary's NoteBook© network.
Did we think back in 1991 that we'd still be encouraging and mentoring young and mature women of size in this year of 2025?
Through our willingness to "talk" about our experiences as Women of Size, we haven't quite set the world aflame, but quite honestly we've had some impact! The wheel turns and its noticable that in 2025 we are still fighting discimination. Why is that, I wonder?
Have we been so preoccupied with attending to life issues (which include health issues) to the detriment of eradcating bad attitudes and bad behaviour by many people around us who still find pleasure in trying to "bring us down". Trying to convince us that we're foolish in finding satisfaction in being happy, contented women who don't wear size 6-8 but who can look pretty darn good in size 22-24-26-28 and so on.
For you see, it has taken full circle to get to where we are now. We can now look at ourselves in the mirror of a morning, and dressed in favorite outfits, we feel and look
SO G O O D!
(It was Rhett Butler who famously said in the film Gone With the Wind (a classic of 193 (played by Clark Gable), "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn". I add another couple of words to that saying to answer women who insist that we don't care for our bodies, which include the clothes we wear, etc; "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a darn as to what you think I should wear; my choices are made through commonsense, a bit of know-how and a bit of whimsy" .)
Now I don't know whether you agree with me or not, but I've managed to convince myself that I look good in jewel colours; that I can get away with a little flamboyance; that I look good in everything I wear - and I still love my satin bustiers!
'Til next time, Rosemary 💖
