This is a fabulous blouse, available in sizes Lg up to 8x. The overblouse is sheer, and can be worn over a swimsuit, a dress, or even as a neglige'. It ties in the front, has long sheer sleeves with small bell, and the bottom is a very flattering handkerchief style. This is great for our lovely pears out there, the hips swing out appx 15"-20" from the chest. There is also an option to get a pretty tank top to go underneath, adorned in white sequins, or plain. Jumping the gun!

No, I'm not referring to any race at the Olympic Games!   What I'm referring to is getting in early for summer!

Summer I hear you ask?  When we're experiencing top temperatures of 12 degrees?  Well, yes, I am thinking about summer, because when it arrives quite often there isn't the same choice of swimwear around!  Everybody else has beaten us through the store doors.

I received my Ezibuy catalogue yesterday, and as always there are some lovely garments for the young, slim and trim.  But I'm always eager to see what the Sara range is all about.   The page on swimwear has some nice offerings.  At first I thought - they're nice but why not give us a selection of colours?  Yet when I thought more about it, I came to the conclusion that the colours of "Ink", that sort of blue that melds with almost anything and bright white are just the thing to represent bright blue skies and white sands.

Here's an example of the Sara range of swimwear.   I've also included their sizings, as we all know the confusion and frustration we feel when we really don't have a clue about manufacturers/suppliers precise sizings.

Thinking of summer!

Now, I'm known to have a quirky sense of humour.  But I just couldn't resist including a couple of lovely swimsuits in today's blog.   What made me think of summer?   Well, I've just been watching the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations which included the Royal Barge sailing down the Thames with a flotilla of thousands of boats.  In the pouring rain - heavy fog and everything in between - and it's supposed to be summer over there, isn't it?

Me? I'm shivering in about 7 degrees, trying to think "warm" thoughts, and inevitably those thoughts turn to the summer time.  So naturally swimsuits are a part of summer.   Hope you get my drift!

Sometimes we forget!

As a plus sizer, it is sometimes easy to forget that there are many women in this category who cannot, or do not like to wear fitted garments easily.  By this I mean who who may had had surgery, those who may suffer from various health issues such as lymphoedema and other "swelling" situations.  These women although they would like to wear short dresses and tight fitted pants, cannot do so without causing discomfort either physically or emotionally as in when they see themselves in the mirror.

That's not the only aspect though - a lot of women prefer loose, floating clothing.  It's got nothing to be with living as a 21st century "hippie" - it's got to do with comfort and what a person personally likes.

So it's really good when we see clothing that has been designed and made with the thought of plus-size comfort.  When those designs fit well into the needs of women who want or who need looser flowing garments, then this is even better.

What happened to our summer?

Everyone seems to be asking the same thing.  But, seasons come and go when they please.  It's the "weather" that can pleasantly surprise us, even when it's OUT of season!  Today we're promised something like 27 degrees - which after weeks of around 15 and 17, sounds good to me!
